Maybe Friday night…

Date February 13, 2008

Nothing on the To-Do list…
Wife out all night with friends…
TV sucks…
Might be the perfect time to rebuild my UI, take lots of screenshots and notes, and start writing my build a basic UI series.
That is of course, if I can resist playing…

Auctioneer and making money

Date January 25, 2008

Interested?  I’m assuming I’m not the only one out there who needs more money.
I’ve long since wanted to write a series on how to effectively use Auctioneer to make money; living the high life of buying low and selling high.  Trouble is, I never really felt like I had a good handle on how best […]

Glad it’s not just me…

Date December 19, 2007

I just read this article on WoW Insider.  In it, Matthew talks about the challenges of playing well into the night - where sleep deprived Priests fake disconnects, and instances that should be quick, clean walkthroughs become extended corpse runs.  While Matthew’s experience was surely frustrating, it came at just the right time for me.
As you […]

ADUI Custom UI initial screenshots

Date November 4, 2007

Okay, Sunday morning and I have to take my wife’s car to the shop, but I promised to get a couple screenshots up of the ADUI package.  This will be a quick post, without much explanation, so you’ll get to see what the package looks like pretty much “right out of the box”, then a […]

Pssst! Want a l33t custom UI?

Date October 30, 2007

Like you, I would see screenshots of cool, custom user interfaces from time to time on the forum boards and think that it would be cool to have one like that.  But it seemed like whenever you did some research into setting one up, even using a compilation, you had to be a WoW programmer […]

Ah, sweet nirvana of bliss

Date October 10, 2007

As in add-on bliss.
Based on comments by a number of folks in my previous “add-on hell post” post, I did some searching and found the WoW Ace Updater program.
WOW!  (No pun intended).  Things sure have changed in the automatic updater world.  I tried a couple of these programs a while back with very little luck.  […]

Add-On Hell!

Date October 4, 2007

As in “I’m in it!”
I haven’t updated my add ons for quite a while, just checking the “load out of date add ons” every patch.  Generally, everything works fine.  However, since it’s been quite a few patches since I’ve really updated, I have started to get some errors here and there with enough frequency to […]

LOL - Welcome Bartenders

Date September 26, 2007

I can always count on a big spike in hits after a major patch.  Everyone is searching for help on setting up action bars.  I got about a 30% or higher number of hits yesterday, with most of them finding my post on setting up Bartender 3.  I still stand by Bartender 3 and really […]

Druid Add-ons

Date July 18, 2007

Hey, do you guys read or subscribe to WoW Insider?  I do, although since I check it at work there’s a lot of fluff I delete through.  Don’t get me wrong - they do a great job with lots of content to appeal to the varied readership I’m sure they have.  I just tend to be […]

Bartender 3 with multiple characters

Date February 6, 2007

I just ran into a Bartender 3 issue that I didn’t cover in my previous post that you need to be aware of if you plan on setting it up on one account for multiple characters.
There is a profile system in BT3 just like many mods.  I just realized this last night as I had […]

Addon Overview - Bartender 3

Date February 4, 2007

As I’ve posted before, corresponding with the release of The Burning Crusade, I switched from Bongos to Bartender 3 for action bar modification.  If you are looking for an action bar mod, and your needs are basic, or you’re just getting started playing around with bar modding, then I highly recommend Bartender 3 (BT3).  In this […]

Outfitter updated - 2.0.1

Date January 31, 2007

Just in case you hadn’t noticed, there’s a new version of Outfitter available.  The new version is 2.0.1 and you can download it here.
I just installed it and it seems more stable than the version I was using.  I was having a lot of quirks with items not switching correctly between forms, and getting attached […]

Addon replacement - Bartender 3 for Bongos

Date January 30, 2007

A while back, I published an overview of Bongos and called it part 1.  I intended to cover this addon in two parts simply because there was so much to say about it and I wanted to cover it’s configuration in great detail to help you out.  I had been using it for a while […]

Auctioneer seems to be working

Date January 18, 2007

I downloaded the beta version of Auctioneer yesterday.  With all the new items on the AH, I didn’t want to be buying and selling without at least a couple scans.  Lots of disclaimers about this being “not fully tested”, but I haven’t had any major problems.

Addon Overview - Bongos (Part 1)

Date January 14, 2007

UPDATE - For reasons I’ve outlined in a separate post, I am now using Bartender 3 for my action bar setup.  Read my overview here.
I’m going to write my long-promised overview of Bongos in two parts.  Bongos is an action bar modification addon that gives you virtually complete control over your action bar setup.  It is not tha […]

Outfitter - working?

Date January 10, 2007

After the patch got applied last night, I noticed that all my add-ons were “out of date”.   I forced out of date add-ons to be loaded anyway and didn’t have any problems with any of them except for Extended Quest Log.
Anyway, something in the process must have reset Outfitter because it appears to now be […]

Addon Overview - OneBag

Date January 7, 2007

I downloaded OneBag a couple days ago based on Not Addicted’s post that I talked about earlier.  By the way, I’m linking addon references to wowinterface now.  Yea, I’ve complained before about their search results, but I’ve figured that out.  They just return every addon that mentions the addon you’re searching for.  Makes some intuitive […]

“13 Must Have Add-Ons” update

Date January 4, 2007

Okay, I had some time last night and I downloaded the three add-ons from Not Addicted’s list of 13 must haves to check them out.  Good news and bad news.
Good news first - simply installing Bongos and Perl Classic Unit Frames increased my frame rate enormously.  Like I was really struggling along with around 14 […]

Auctioneer almost ready? Could it be???

Date January 2, 2007

Check out the first news item on the home page of Auctioneer.  This definitely sounds promising for one of those must-have add-ons that wasn’t under my tree.  Life without Auctioneer is tolerable, but certainly it is more enjoyable with it.  Let’s hope a clean 2.0 version is available very soon.

13 “Must-Have” Add-ons?

Date January 2, 2007

Not Addicted has a post listing his 13 most essential add-ons.  You can argue fine points with him (believe me though, he doesn’t care), or you can just take the list as-is for some possibly good add-ons you haven’t come across yet.
Most listed are fairly obvious, but I did find a few new ones for […]
