It is done
June 19, 2008
I logged into my account this morning and cancelled my subscription. Surprising how easy it was to write a farewell blog post, but how long I postponed actually cancelling my subscription. There’s just something final about taking that last step.
Anyway - I really don’t see myself returning. Even if I do I simply don’t have the time to devote to this blog. I appreciate all the kind comments and am truly sad to be leaving.
I am a fan of simplification, so I do not intend to leave this blog up indefinitely. With other Druid blogs providing great content, and the new expansion quickly outdating most of my content, I’ve made the decision to permanently delete this blog at the end of July. If there is any particular content you would like to save, make sure to copy it off before that time.
It’s been a LOT of fun. Best of luck to you all, both in-game and in real life.

GD - Thanks for the comments. I will not be on Twitter, never was. I love technology and spend a fair amount of the day online, but never quite got the whole twitter thing. It’s interesting that many of the business sources I read are starting to come around to it even as it seems to be having it’s problems (uptime, stability, usage, etc.).
Softi - Actually I do have plans for another blog. I’m just thinking it through right now as I’m trying to finish up another project and it IS Summer. It’s a basic personal finance blog, another interest of mine. What do you think - would you give that a read?

Hello Amanna, Good luck in all your future endeavors. I know I really enjoyed your blog and wanted to ttake a second to thank you for all your hard work. I used many of your posts as reference as I leveled my druid. Now that Raven is all grown up I can attribute that to your help. While it is unfortunate that you have decided to leave, I agree with all your reasons to do so. Real Life is much more important then a game and you have made the right decision. Thanks again and good luck!

Take care. Yours was a good read. Well, the finance one would certainly be a little drier.

I know I’ve enjoyed reading your blog, and would be glad to take a peek at more of your writing. I do read some other personal finance blogs, and I’m always willing to give another blog a try and see if it’s useful/entertaining to me. Maybe you could post a headsup here when you start the new blog.
I wish you the best.

Hey Amanna,
I have really enjoyed your blog and have learned a lot from your experiences as I leveled up my druid over the last year and a half. Turns out we are about the same age (nice to see a fellow gamer who grew up in the eighties :D) and I understand the tough balancing act RL can be. Sounds like you have made the decision about what is most important to you. I respect that and I wish you luck on your path.
Peace.

Bummer, your blog and “Your first 21 points”. Brought me from level 1 to 70. I followed all the way up. Thanks for the help.
