Audit your toon
February 27, 2008
I saw this mentioned over on BBB a couple days ago and fought the urge to write about it immediately. I wanted to give it a test drive and give you my thoughts along with the link.
The site is Be Imba! It’s a character audit for level 70 toons. As reported by Big Bear and others around the net, it imports your character data from the Armory and gives you an analysis of areas where you can improve. Things like unenchanted gear, missing gems, it even takes a look at your talend build.
Obviously, nothing can take the place of common sense, so use this tool for what it was intended - a basic audit. As a resource to point out ways to improve that you either forgot about or haven’t got to yet, it could definitely fit the bill.
Or at least I think it could. I haven’t been able to get it to work. I’m not sure if that’s my issue or Be Imba’s, but I’ve tried it at home and at work and still haven’t got an audit report. Your mileage may vary, but based on what I’ve seen, you should definitely check it out.

I couldn’t get it to work at first either. I tried multiple times, and got nothing at all. I doublechecked the spelling of the realm and character names repeatedly, but no dice.
Later, I tried from a different computer and found that there was actually a pulldown menu to use for entering the realm name!! When I used this and then typed in the toon name, it worked.
So, are you seeing this pulldown menu thingy for the realms? If not, I’d suggest trying a different browser, as it could be something with your settings.

I tried this site for my level 70 hunter. It took a very long time for the information to appear, and when it did, I accidentally re-submitted the request, starting the whole process over again. When the report finally appeared, I found the most useful part to be the enchants section, calling out a hand enchant that I never knew was available.

Ess - I am not seeing the dropdown for realm, but I am on a US realm so I’m assuming my issues are those related to “problems” with US armory data. Can’t wait to try it out though.
