Hey, it’s only money, right?

So I’m on Saturday night playing around with Mastu a bit.  He’s my Dranei Shaman alt that is the farthest along of all my alts.  Currently at level 25, I’m questing in Ashenvale and he’s starting to feel like a “real” character.  Too bad there’s no one around anymore, it would be fun to run through Blackfathom Deeps.  I’m not sure if it’s nostalgia (BFD was my first dungeon run) or truly the merits of the instance, but BFD is my favorite all time instance.

Actually, it’s notthat deserted.  It’s certainly not like when I first started playing, but I do see folks in the lower zones still.  Every once in a while I even see a fair number of them.  But I don’t have any illusions about the possibility of any instance running until at least the 50’s or so.

Anyway, I got completed a few quests, got a level up and was getting ready to shut down for the night.  I had some JC mats from the night so I crafted a couple necklaces and sent them off to my banker alt, thinking I’d just log in quickly, post them up on the auction house, and call it a night.

As most of you know that read this blog regularly, I really haven’t been playing Amanna much lately.  With the personal issues I had over last summer/fall combined with the dissolution of my guild, I really didn’t have anyone to play with, even if I had the desire.

Well, lately I’ve been getting the itch again.  I’ve logged in a couple times here and there and ripped the crap out of a couple warp stalkers just for fun, and it felt good.  I couldn’t do a whole lot as my UI is in shambles due to the “build from scratch” series I’m writing.   But the desire to get back to Amanna is getting stronger and stronger.

So, that said, I log off Matsu and log into my banker alt.  She dutifully takes his necklaces and posts them for sale.  Wow - if they sell that will be another 80S.   W00T!!!

 Anyway, I’m getting ready to had back to my normal parking space at the mailbox and I get a thought.  I wonder… I just wonder…  How much are Badges of Tenacity going for these days???  (Cool - just flipped over to Wowhead for the link and they have some sort of type-ahead drop down selection script running now in the home page search box.  Very fun).

Anyway - So I run a scan on them and two come up.  The cheapest has a buyout of around 760G.  Now I used to check for these every day when I was playing Amanna all the time and at that point, they were routinely running anywhere from 1500G to over 2000G.  So 760G sounded like a pretty good discount over those days.  I started to buy it, then had second thoughts.  Having not been on much at all lately, I really didn’t know if that was a good price or not, now did I?  And wasn’t I saving up for the flying skill I need for epic flight form? 

Well, long story short, the “aw, screw it” philosophy came over me and I bought it. 

I’m almost ashamed to tell you what I’ve been wearing all this time.  My two trinkets, for Bear form at least, have been Terokkar Tablet of Precision and Ward of the Elementsfor about as long as I can remember.  I know - kind of embarrassing.  So I equipped Badge replacing the Ward.

The effect?  Well a pretty good boost to armor in Bear as you would expect.

In case you can’t see that’s an increase of armor from 22,642 to 24,336, an increase of 1694 armor.  That dodge should go up significantly when I pop the Badge also with the +150 agility increase. 

I know, I know - this is old hat to all of you.  Hey, let me boast for a little bit.  I haven’t played Amanna for a while and this was a lot of fun to buy and equip.  I’m motivated now to get my UI set back up and find a guild to join. 

I’m hungry for that pocket-watch now…
