It’s not pretty, but it might be all you need

Date March 26, 2007

I’ve been looking for a Druid Gear list that covers Outland for quite a while now.  Most of the links on my gear page don’t appear to be adequately updated for The Burning Crusade.

Well, I finally came across this site with what appears to be an exhaustive list of Burning Crusade for both feral forms.  It even breaks down DPS in cat form between sustained and burst.  It ranks everything on what appears to be an objectively computed value (Kitty Pts. for cat, and Mit. Pts. for bear), but no information on how these points are calculated.   Gem slots are listed, but I have to guess that possible gem bonuses are not included in the rating.

I’m not at end-game, but casual inspection of some of the lists makes me think this is a good list to do gear checks against.  The list is linked to thotbott (not wowhead, /cry) so you can link to get more info and find how to get a particular item.

I won’t belabor the point - check out the page.  Be warned it takes a while to load so keep your finger off the button!  I’ll also be adding it to my Links page.

Enjoy!

    Amanna,
The site by gurgleblaster.net you are referring to is very good. It does account for Sockets and gems. There is actually a forum that goes along with that actual spreadsheet. The site for that is http://www.gurgleblaster.net/forum

The Bear forumula can be found in the forum or on the druid.wikispaces.com site. It’s focus is on Sta, Agi, and armor mostly. The 2 cat formula work different in that Sustained DPS is more about attack power and hit rating, while the burst is about crit potential.

Either way, I highly recommend it. The author, Emmerald is a well known druid in the WoW europe community.

    Brunnor,

Thanks for the clarification. While the data looked very good, it’s good to get supporting information from you on the validity of the site.

Too bad I got rid of my Mark of Tyranny from pre-BC days. It’s one of the top trinkets. What was I thinking???
